Do you need assistance with attending the 2024 AEG Annual Meeting?
Here are a few ways we can assist you. We hope you'll take this opportunity to meet a new face and help prepare yourself or a fellow member for a successful future!
We also invite you to submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation. Every year we host a student poster competition voted exclusively through our Annual Meeting Mobile App by all attendees. Prizes are awarded at the poster reception on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Prizes awarded for 1st ($200), 2nd ($100), and 3rd ($50). See the technical program link for submittal details.
Volunteer for a Free Registration
Interested in volunteering 8 hours in exchange for a complimentary full meeting registration? Volunteer duties include running the speaker timer and lights for the technical session, stuffing registration packets, taking tickets at events, and helping with registration. Contact Heather Clark for all of the details, firstname.lastname@example.org or 303-518-0618.
The Student and Young Professional Support Committee (SYPSC) has developed an Annual Meeting mentor program to pair professionals that plan to attend the 2024 Annual Meeting with interested student attendees. We hope mentors can provide advice and support both before and during the Annual Meeting to make the meeting more relaxing, enjoyable, and beneficial for students. Students interested in being paired with a mentor will identify themselves when they register for the meeting, and will be provided with the contact information of a professional who has volunteered to be a mentor. The student can then contact the professional with questions ranging from "What should I wear?" to "Could we meet during the Ice Breaker?" Contact Heather Clark, email@example.com for more information.
AEG's Student & Young Professional Support Committee accepts applications for travel grants for Student Members, Early Career Members, and Teacher Members that attend AEG's Annual Meetings. These grants are for $500 each and are awarded to current members based on meeting involvement and need. Grants are intended to support association members who might not otherwise be able to attend the Annual Meeting. View Travel Grant Application

Young at Heart Event
Tuesday, September 10, 2024 - 8:00-10:00pm
This social event is a great way to start your week in Philadelphia. Make or Mingle with your friends in environmental and engineering geology while you enjoy free appetizers and a free drink ticket. Just a short walk from the hotel, this event is an excellent opportunity to build connections with peers, mentors, senior fellows, and potential employers. We encourage students and young professionals to join the event and welcome experienced professionals who are “young at heart!”
"Take a Student to Dinner or Lunch"
Buy a student a ticket on your registration form to attend the Inclusion Luncheon or the Annual Banquet. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to meet and network with professionals and fellow students. Please contact Heather Clark, firstname.lastname@example.org, if you would like a ticket to one of these events
